Summer 2012

Our summer was actually not as busy as in the past which was kind of a little weird.  We were all a little bored at times but hey we survived and had fun anyways!  Moving has really thrown everyone off including me - the adjustments are not on my favorites list right now but there is always the good during the hard times!

We celebrated father's day by spoiling the fabulous Chad!  He pretty much got candy and snacks which happen to please him just fine! ;)

We started our Summer off with the "Taylor Temple Tour".  We decided it would be fun to visit every temple in Utah.  This weekend when we will go to the Brigham City Temple open house and stop at the Logan and Ogden temples we will only have 2 left!  It has really been fun and we realize what a great blessing it is to have sooooo many close to us!  When we are finished Ty and Isabelle are excited to make a temple book of their "tour".

The end of June Chad ran another 10k and we were there to cheer him on.  Next is his marathon this weekend... it's been on his mind constantly!  We wish him good luck!

We enjoyed every bit of our garden.  Eating lots of strawberries - Vivienne would just sit next to the strawberry plants and pick and stuff her mouth.  Our tomato plants were HUGE and produced so many tomatoes that we were able to share with many and we still have so many growing.  We enjoyed zuchinni bread, muffins and brownies!  Our squash didn't do great but I don't think anyone but me complained. :/  We look forward to planting more next year.

We celebrated my Grandma Swenson's birthday with a surprise open house.  She seemed to love it and she was the popular lady with so many friends and family stopping by.  The kids love visiting her since of course she always has candy for them.

Vivienne enjoyed lots of diaper days reading books and magazines.  This girl is crazy fun!  She has the cutest personality and is so full of life.  She loves books and it shows with how smart she is!

Ty had another season of baseball which kept us on the go every Saturday between this and soccer games.  Isn't Vivi cute?!  She is a hat stealer - she loves to wear hats!

While visiting the Salt Lake Temple we decided to go to City Creek.  The kids loved playing in the dinosaur kids area and Chad and I enjoyed looking at all the stores we can't afford to shop in! ;)  We also took a tour of the Brigham Young house.  All the years I have been to temple square I had never taken this tour but we really enjoyed it.  Ty still mentions some of the cool facts he learned.

August was our surgery month - Isabelle's belly button and Ty had oral surgery.  He had an extra tooth that was growing up instead of down so he had to get it removed along with 2 other teeth being pulled.  Both surgeries went well it just meant lots of $$$$$!

We enjoyed every minute of the olympics!  Ty had to have the TV on almost constantly (which is not the norm at our house) so he wouldn't miss any of the olympics.  He was so into it I decided to have an Olympic FHE.  We made flags for our countries - Chad, Thailand and Italy (the other 2 make sense but not sure why Ty chose Italy for Isabelle and I).  We had 50m, 100m races, disc throw, water bottle soccer (this is super fun), fencing (you can see vivi and ty competing) and an awards ceremony.  It was a blast!

Isabelle enjoyed summer dance and actually went this year with no tears!  She had 2 friends from our new neighborhood in her class and she just danced her little heart out every time!

Swim lessons are always a must during the Summer.  Both kids loved every day and little Vivi was the "I need a snack" girl which kept mom occupied.

The girls loved swimming in the backyard and would play for hours in the pool or "painting" with water and sponges on the patio.  This is one thing I will really miss!

The kids and I headed down to St. George to visit family and to see Aladdin at Tuacahn while Chad was in Montana for work.  It was an amazing show with camels, a 3D part and lots of super funny parts!  While there Isabelle got a 2nd party for her birthday with giant sugar cookies and a few fun presents.

Some sadness with summer over but I won't complain having a consistent routine again!  I feel blessed I was able to stay home and share in all these memories with my kids!  I am realizing how fast they grow up and how little time I get to enjoy them as babies and kids.  They are my favorite!
