Another year has come and gone too fast! Can't believe I have a 9 year old. This year was a friend birthday party and he was excited about it. It was extremely difficult to narrow down his friend list to a reasonable number. He has so many friends and he just wants to include everyone. With the amount of kids invited we had to keep it pretty simple so they played soccer the majority of time and then a few games. I was worried about keeping them entertained but I realize the older they get the easier it is for them to entertain themselves. And trying to really organize anything with 11 nine year old boys was really impossible at times.
Info about Ty:
-He loves reading! He CANNOT put a book down ever! He reads while trying to clean, eating, going to the bathroom, brushing his teeth, setting the table, in the car and any chance he can get. We have taken a few pictures of him in his crazy reading positions. It sometimes gets frustrating when he moves at a snails pace since of course he's reading and we have to insist he put the book down but we also think it could be worse and be TV or the Wii so we just try to laugh about his obsession!
-Can make friends easily and seems to have a lot. He now has a few neighborhood girls coming over to ask him to "play" or they just like to talk to him from their backyards. It is funny to watch!
-Loves sports - watching, playing, reading the sports section! He is still playing soccer, football, baseball and basketball which keeps us busy during each season. Since getting rid of DirectTV he now keeps up on games on the computer or iPad consistently.
-Is excelling in school! This has been the best year for him since he is being challenged. Ty has an amazing memory and he continues to amaze us with his knowledge.
-He is still doing well in Piano and if he practiced better he would be even better but he is starting to fight more with practicing. I told him if he found one adult who regrets knowing how to play the piano then he can quit - he has yet to find anyone!
On his birthday we surprised him with a week long vacation with Chad over Spring Break. We gave him a "California Travel Survival Bag" filled with a few Fablehaven books, a sports trivia book and some treats. He was REALLY shocked and super excited especially knowing he was already packed and leaving the next morning.
