Isabelle's Surgery

Today Isabelle had surgery to fix her umbilical hernia.  Chad and I were extremely nervous for this day and had put it off hoping it would fix on it's own.  Luckily for us and Isabelle the day went really well! Primary Children's is AMAZING and does such great work for lots of kids and we felt blessed to have such a great hospital to go to.  They were patient and catered to Isabelle's every need... from a girl nurse and a girl anesthesiologist (Isabelle prefers girls!) to crafts, books, toys, a watermelon scented mask, crackers and a sippy cup of apple juice after her surgery.  And who can forget one of the best things - a wagon ride to the surgery room and out to the car!  She was most excited about this!  We felt blessed to have such a great experience and hope the recovery goes well.  She will not be doing a whole lot for a couple weeks so we will enjoy lots of movies, games and lazy days which sounds pretty good to me!  Ty is already right by her side fulfilling all she asks of him including helping her to the bathroom!

There were so many fun things to do I think it was hard to choose.

 She got some "calming" medicine and then sat in the wagon as it took effect.  

This medicine worked great because she was not scared at all.  

She wanted to make sure I was close by the whole time!  

Off she goes with the anesthesiologist... and luckily we were both really calm!  Thank you to many prayers!

This felt really weird to her because she kept touching it after she was out of surgery.  

We will wait until Sunday to take off her bandage and see her stitches.

She was offered Popsicles, juice, slushies, crackers... 

but she was content with a couple sippy cups of apple juice.

Royal treatment out to the car!  She loved this part... I told her now she's going to 

expect me to pull her in a wagon to the car every time - she just laughed!  

We love this sweet girl and are so glad this surgery, even if it was minor, is in the past!
