Disneyland 2011

In May we headed off to Disneyland once again! My parents headed down with us and we left Vivienne for the week with my sister. The drive down was long with lots of California traffic heading back from Las Vegas - it was sloooooowwwww finally arriving after an 8 1/2 hour drive!! We woke up early the next morning anxious to get started and more surprised by the amount of people from Utah who decided to take their Disneyland vacation the same time as us - boooo! There were lots of BYU and Utah apparel and a sea of strollers! We made the best of our 3 days of crowds and longer than expected lines but enjoyed all the characters, rides, princesses, yummy food and goodies, and of course the magic!

Some of our highlights:
-Waiting in line 2 hours to see Rapunzel - who could resist cute little Isabelle in her Rapunzel dress waiting that long so patiently! Luckily seeing Cinderella, Aurora and Snow White did not require such a long wait.

-My dad and Chad buying their $9 turkey legs that they DID NOT enjoy. Every time they saw or smelled them the rest of the time they were sick. :/

-Isabelle receiving the royal princess treatment complete with hair extensions, makeup and jewelry. The whole process was fun and really cute but as the day went on the hair got scarier and scarier. It reminded me a lot of the show on TLC "Toddlers and Tiaras" - something I would never do with my daughters.

-Ty getting picked for the Jedi Training Academy. The last time he fought Darth Vader and this time he was excited to fight Darth Maul.

-Ty finally was tall enough to ride Indiana Jones and unfortunately he hated it. What?! We were surprised and could not talk him into to trying it again. He did however LOVE Pirates of the Caribbean and wanted to ride on it as much as he could.

-On our way home we were able to meet Chad's boss Larry, Julieta and their little girl Stella along with another co-worker Tom in LA for lunch. We went to a delicious burger place called Go Burger. Whenever we have gone to Disneyland we have been able to see them - they are good friends who we enjoyed being able to see once again!

-We stayed the last night in Las Vegas before heading back to St. George. We enjoyed swimming in the pool and the kids loved being able to eat pizza in bed! We made a quick picture stop at our ball field apartment we lived in for 2 years. LOTS of great memories there! We sure miss all our friends and family there.

-After arriving in St. George the kids enjoyed lots of playing with cousins. We watched a movie with everyone our last night and enjoyed yummy homemade cookies and cream ice cream! We also got to see baby Viv after a week. Ty and Isabelle missed her so much! I really don't even think she knew who her family was since she is so easy going and was a great baby while we were gone.

*The video below is of the new "World of Color" water show they have. It was really amazing and the kids (and my dad) LOVED it! ;)

  2. Sounds like a great trip! And you guys deserve it.
I'm sure Rapunzel was worth the wait.
What Disney Land trip is complete without gross overpriced food right?
